Before 4 years..
Vishnu, Krishnan, Swami, and Ananthan were traveling in a train. The four were comfortably seated in a compartment which was jam packed. The dry wind and the hot summer season didn’t seem to bother them as they were busy discussing various issues- from film actors to the president of America, sports to lecture classes, they never went dry for a subject while they were together. The fellow passengers were offended by the shouting and loud “buhahaha”s . . . the 4 never spared a thought about the beautiful girls with whom they were sharing the compartment…..
The girls were so frustrated that one girl even passed this comment- “are they gay? They are not even ogling at us. I am feeling depressed. After all we are not that bad.
The guys stopped talking for a second hearing this. They stared at the girls and they continued talking as if they weren’t interrupted ... The girls didn’t forget to use the F words when they finally saw us getting down at our destination.
Years passed... The four friends are now at different places, pursuing different things in life. But still they liked traveling to places by train. . Each one would go through the reservation charts to see whether they can obtain a seat near a F 20/21. One even forgot to get the ticket as he was busy searching for F 20 s in the list and he had to pay the fine for traveling without a ticket. One learned that a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush as he tried to find a different seat when the F 20 near his seat was an ugly one... The end result – he lost that seat too…the other one had a special fetish for Christian catholic girls. He would settle for an average looking catholic girl than for a good looking Nair girl. I ll briefly explain the experiences they had off late
Ananthan s experience
He reached his compartment and he was delighted to see girls in the compartment. He took his mobile and texted his friends “4 girls- not koothara, but ok” …he then delightfully spent the next 10 minutes talking to them. And that’s it…The journey usually takes 8 hours. Then why only 10 minutes with the girls? Did they move to another compartment? Is he really gay?Na. The reason-. The hero has this habit of making phone calls to his friends and these calls last really long. Sometimes 2 hours with 4 different persons. Sometimes 4 hours with two …anyways the girls in the compartment weren’t impressed and as a result they never even let him know what their names/ email ids or phone numbers. The worst part is that during the 10 minutes they talked, he was interested in knowing whether they were enjoying the travel in train, whether the chaiwala was serving good chai…whether the train was running on time etc etc….
Vishnu s experience
He reached his compartment. He was really disappointed to see 30 yr old males. He took his phone. Texted friends –“coach full of girls :P ” … feeling really disappointed he offered his seat to someone else and he searched for a seat ..Luckily he found a girl who was his college mate. He went to the toilet .imagining what all things would happen in the next 8 hrs..he put on his company T shirt having a big logo ! it was custom made for him as he wanted a t shirt with bigger logos of the company.. ( this happened after he was asked , for which company he works for , by a beautiful looking girl while he was wearing a t shirt with a small logo in it).the significance of the t shirt is that it gives a topic to start a conversation...like. The girl would ask….OMG…you are working in this company…how lucky you are. You are really awesome…
He thanked his lucky stars and went back to his seat. He tried to start a conversation with her …but after 10 minutes, he received the call from Ananthan...By the time he finished the call, the girl was asleep… Disappointment again. He took his lap top and started working on his project when an old man next to him asked “ OMG ..You are working for….. “
Swamis experience..
He is the ultimate Brutus. He would do the seat searching and would find a compartment full of old men if one of us s with him. It would be different if he s alone…but thank god. He never found an empty seat near a girl in his lifetime. But as it says, every dog has a day…he had a nice opportunity off late…..on his journey back to home, he took a window seat and started reading a book…the compartment was full and people even occupied the luggage spaces..…then he saw this girl standing near the door. the face seemed to be familiar…..he waved to her….she smiled back and moved near to him….yup...it was his schoolmate…he offered to share the seat with her. She gracefully accepted the offer.. (He told me later that this girl used to be a hottie when she was young)...Ah...5 hours of long journey... And the girl was a Christian catholic too…..but as always he screwed it up. How? He started talking about all the boring things in this world. When the girl expected him to talk about how good she looks in her dress, he started talking about economic recession, the middle east Asian crisis.. The swat valley crisis… LTTE problem in Srilanka…end result. She slept after 5 minutes and the hero spent the rest of the time reading a book….and of course the call from Ananthan too helped in killing time!!!
Krishnan’s experience..
Like Swami, he was unfortunate too. He too never found a girl during his travels. The closest he came was when he had to travel to his uncle’s place. He met this girl….waved to her…the girl moved near to him....it was his schoolmate… (He even dreamt about his two children of her by that time)... ….Krishnan offered to share the seat...And then the girl introduced him to her father. After 5 minutes, Krishnan saw himself standing near the door while the girl was sitting comfortably with her father near her. And then they didn’t even care about him. They talked to each other as if they forgot that he was near them. So he decided to move near to the door so that he can at least feel some fresh air…..
So there it is. The experiences of four different men but we all enjoy the good times some lucky guys get while traveling in the train. The only time they get to spent near their love interest. Even though they forget about the surroundings, but who cares….
Are you mad?? why are you writing such depressing blogs alone?? Is it that there were only misses in our lives?? There should have been some hits da....write that naa? This are things which all of us know off...and i really remember "krishnan" saying that if i were in that company every piece of clothing that i wear will have the logo and that he will run around the college all the times (in my defence....)...any how nice blog...nalla imagination....I will try to write some thing that is similar but little more positive....(i said i will try....i will have to try hard to find some thing that is postive :))

ReplyDeletedepressing :O ?? i ll say that its my reputation that makes u feel like this....its written for fun...it has no other purpose...!
..i cooked up this story...all of us know that its 100% fake..i admit, that these characters are inspired from the people around me...but we all know what really happens when these people get into compartments.
That sounded R K Narayan-ish. :) Ofcourse with a little and more wrong interpretation of the female kind that never happens with R K Narayan. :P
